Harrison Ruopp (born March 17, 1993) is a Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman. He is currently playing with the Pittsburgh Penguins of the National Hockey League (NHL). Ruopp was selected by the Phoenix Coyotes in the 3rd round (84th overall) of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.
Ruopp played four seasons (2009 - 2013) of major junior hockey with the Prince Albert Raiders of the Western Hockey League (WHL), scoring 3 goals and 31 assists for 34 points, while earning 395 penalty minutes, in 214 WHL games.
On June 22, 2012, the Phoenix Coyotes traded Ruopp, along with Marc Cheverie and a 3rd round selection in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft (Oskar Sundqvist), to the Pittsburgh Penguins in exchange for Zbyněk Michálek.[1]
On March 4, 2013, the Pittsburgh Penguins signed Harrison to a three-year entry-level contract.[2]
