Mike Carter (born October 23, 1979) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player.

Carter attended Mercyhurst University where he played four seasons (20002004) of NCAA hockey with the Mercyhurst Lakers, scoring 42 goals and 55 assists for 97 points, while earning 206 penalty minutes, in 131 games played.

Carter began his professional career in the Central Hockey League (CHL), where he played the 2004–05 season with the Wichita Thunder. He continued to play in the CHL for the next two years, suiting up with the Odessa Jackalopes and Lubbock Cotton Kings, before returning to Wichita to close out the 2006–07 season.

With the 2007–08 season, Carter moved to the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) where he was a was a key member of the Knoxville Ice Bears 2007–08 and 2008–09 SPHL Championships.[1] Carter joined the Huntsville Havoc in 2009, helping the team to captured their first SPHL championship, while becoming the first SPHL player to win three consecutive league championships.[2]

On February 08, 2011, the Havoc traded Carter to the Fayetteville FireAntz in exchange for the SPHL all-time leading scorer, Rob Sich,[3] allowing Carter to make 16 appearances for the FireAntz during the 2010–11 season. He next signed with the Pensacola Ice Flyers and retired following the 2011–12 campaign.
