Scott Carter (born October 24, 1971) is a Canadian retired professional ice hockey defenceman. He is currently an assistant coach with the Wightlink Tigers of the English National Ice Hockey League (NIHL).

Born in St. Albert, Alberta, Canada, Carter begane his professional career in 1997 with the Cardiff Rage of the British National League. With the 1998-99 season, he joined the Wightlink Raiders of the English Premier Ice Hockey League, staying with that club for nine seasons through to the end of the 2006-07 campaign.

Following his professional career, Carter remained active in hockey, playing as a senior with the Wightlink Tigers of the English National Ice Hockey League, and in 2012 he accepted a role as the assistant coach with the Tigers.[1]
