Shane Hynes (born November 7, 1983) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player. He was selected by the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim in the 3rd round (86th overall) of the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.
Hynes attended Cornell University where he played three seasons (2003 – 2005 ) of NCAA Division I hockey with the Cornell Big Red of the ECAC Hockey Conference, helping Cornell to win the 2003 and 2005 ECAC Hockey Men's Ice Hockey Tournaments.
On August 19, 2005, Hynes signed a three-year entry-level contract with the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim[1] forgoing his senior year at Cornell.[2] He went on the play with both the Portland Pirates of the American Hockey League and the Augusta Lynx of the ECHL. He was selected to represent the Augusta Lynx in the 2007 ECHL All-Star Game, but was not able to play due to an injury.[3] Hynes retired following the 2007–08 season.
